Matthew McConaughey is a Texan actor who became famous thanks to movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Steps or The Lincoln Lawyer. He even got an Academy Award. Needless to say, McConaughey is one of the top Hollywood actors right now. When you are in the spotlight for such a long time as a celebrity, you want to look as slick as possible and many stars find it difficult to make a compromise when it comes to their looks.
Matthew McConaughey seems to be one of these celebrities, after he was seen with a much more generous hairline that what we’ve been used to in the past. His hair was lot at a rather fast and alarming rate for any man that has not yet reached the age when balding can be a real issue. There is proof regarding this: a mugshot from 1999 pictures Matthew with really thin hair above the forehead. The hairline was quite high, as well, and the front isle that many men have to go through was already strongly developed. Another picture from 2006 shows Matthew with a full hairline at the top of his head. Quite peculiar, many would say.
In 2011, Matthew McConaughey was spotted as a marathon and a picture taken at that time once again pictured a thin hair at the top of his head. On the other hand, at the Academy Awards in 2014, he had really thick hair. However, the hairline was quite weird as the baldness around the temple area was quite deep and suspicions about visual retouching in the area appeared.
There is a lot of speculation whether Matthew McConaughey had a hair transplant and the man himself talked about this in an interview. He was asked if he underwent such a surgical procedure which involves the extraction of hair follicles from the sides and back of the head, where the hair is thicker. The hair is then implanted, one strand at a time, into the affected area. McConaughey said that he did not undergo such a procedure and instead, he only followed a hair loss treatment. It is supposed that he made use of minoxidil in the early years of his baldness issue and he probably uses him now, as well. Although we can still speculate on this issue, at least we have his statement that says he did not make use of surgical treatment to get his hair back.
